Article Title: Database Error When Cancelling A Self-Paced Registration

Summary:

This error can be reproduced by following these steps:

  • Register any student for a self-paced course and then click Done.
  • Cancel the student from the self-paced course by moving the student from the list of registered students into the student search list. Do not specify any cancellation information. Click the Repeat button to save.
  • Select a different self-paced course.
  • Move the student that you cancelled from the first self-paced course into the list of registered students for the second self-paced course.
  • Click Done to save and the error will ocurr.
  • Details:

    The error message that is displayed differs for each database engine. For an Oracle database, the error message will be similar to this:

    S1000: [Oracle][ODBC Oracle Driver][Oracle OCI]ORA-01403: no data found: at "WIZARD.SP_INSUPDSTUREGISTRATION", line 41: at line 1.

    For a Microsoft SQL Server database, the error message will be similar to this:

    Error occurred within SPT02 txtActionLoad (Type mismatch). QueryID = 1580

    A workaround for this issue is to NOT use the Repeat button when saving the list of registered students for a self-paced course. If you always use the Done button, then this error will not occur.

    Training Wizard 2001 3.0.23 resolves the issue so that using the Repeat button is no longer a problem.
